Spring’s Here, at Least the Catalog and Valentine’s Two

No, that’s not a typo in the title, I meant two… I’ll explain in a second though!  First, Hi!  I’ve missed you, although as long as it’s been you probably don’t believe me!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, New Year, and Holiday season!  Ours was hectic and crazy and just plain fun!  I won’t bore you with all the details, but it was nice and I would love to hear all your details if you’d like to share!  🙂  Now, updates!

The Spring Catalog went live January 3rd, and it is absolutely beautiful!  Some of the most gorgeous accessories ever and the stamp sets are out of this world!  It would be easier for me to tell you what isn’t on my must have list than what is on it, lol!  Here’s a cute little card I did for a swap using the “Amazing Family” set…

AmazingFriendMidnight

Isn’t it pretty?  This is the first set that caught my eye!  I love the font and it’s so versatile!  The DSP that I used comes from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  It’s a 48 sheet pad, 4 sheets each of 12 double sided designs.  Each sheet measures 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″.  Just about perfect for making cards, right?  Here’s another view…

AmazingFriendMidnightClose

Better look at that gorgeous paper isn’t it?  There is such a variety of colors in this stack!  This piece uses Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla.  The other colors in the pack are Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit though, it’s so versatile!

There are so many other awesome things in the Spring Catalog, I don’t even know where to begin to try and tell you everything!  Honestly… the Designer Series Papers are beautiful, there are some of the most fabulous embellishments: doilies, lace, builder brads, flower trim, bottle caps, I could go on for days!  There are new embossing folders, stamp sets that are elegant, cute, silly, and some that have matching framelits so you can get the bundle and save just like in the Holiday catalog!  What a deal!  There’s a new Simply Scored Border Scoring Plate (so amazingly awesome)!  Buttons, canvas, ribbon, and of course new MDS digital content… I think I’ll stop now, I’m out of breath, or well… I would be if I was talking as fast as I’m typing!  You can click on the catalog to the right to view the .pdf of the catalog or just go to my web store and browse around to see for yourself, you won’t regret it!

My Little Valentine

Here’s another great thing right now… Stampin’ Up!’s Valentine Treat Bundle and My Little Valentine Promotion!  It’s almost that lovey dovey time, well… it should always be lovey dovey time, lol, but it’s that time when people become especially lovey dovey, know what I mean?  What better way to show that lovey doveyness than with something hand made!  We’ve got two great ways to help you!

First is the Valentine Treat Bundle (132771)… The bundle was created specifically for this offer and contains the brand new Happy Valentine Heart Single Stamp (available only in English) and a package of 1″ x 8″ cellophane bags.  The stamp is available clear mount only and does not include a block.  You can order this online or by contacting me or as part of a workshop order.  The stamp coordinates with the Full Heart Punch (119883, $16.95) but the punch is NOT included in the bundle.  There are no limits so order as many as you like!

The second thing you see is the My Little Valentine promotion!  With that you will get the Sealed with Love Simply Sent Kit (which was in the Holiday Catalog) free with the purchase of the brand new four-piece My Little Valentine Stamp Set!  The Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit includes 10 notecards (5 each of two designs), 10 double sided envelopes, 20 printed paper buttons, 10 pieces Whisper White/Real Red Baker’s Twine, and 24 Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This kit was originally $7.95 but is now free with the purchase of the My Little Valentine Stamp Set (available in English, Spanish, or French).  The four piece stamp set is clear-mount only and does not include blocks, and there are no limits, so for each set you order you receive one Sealed with Love Kit free!  You can order online, direct through me as a customer order or as part of a workshop.  Have a look at this flyer for more details:

One last thing…

ClearanceRack_LPHeader_Demo_Dec_NA

If you haven’t looked lately go check out the Clearance Rack!  They’ve added some great new things recently!

Keep an eye out here in the next few days.  I’ve got some classes scheduled for February and March.  February is using the new Artisan Embellishment Kit in the Spring Catalog.  In March we’ll be doing a 10/10/25 class to stock up on various types of cards for the new year.  You can get more details on my Stampin’ Up! site events page.  Clubs are in the process of being formed right now too, so as always if you’re interested in club shoot me an e-mail and let me know!  There’s always room for more happy stampers!  Remember, if you have any questions about Stampin’ Up! products, club, orders, hosting a workshop, feedback, comments, need input, guidance, or just want to tell me what you think of one of my posts, you can e-mail me at any time or send me a comment via my Stampin’ Up! demo site. Be nice though, ok?  LOL!

Finally, Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference is happening right now in Orlando and there is a LOT of chatter about some great new things heading our way!  I don’t want to post everything all in one day and blow up wordpress, especially since I haven’t posted in so long… but keep an eye out in the next few days as I share what I’m hearing and what my upline brings back!  In the meantime, have a fabulous Saturday!  Eat some chocolate and stamp something!  Not with the chocolate though… well, I suppose you could, and if you do send me a picture! 🙂

Just a Birthday

So I told you that October is mega-birthday month around here right?  Today was my nephew’s 26th birthday!  Oh my goodness that’s just not right!  I remember when he was born, he was such a tiny sweet little thing!  I was 13, do the math, and he was my first true love!  It’s really cool… My sister is 13 years older than me, I’m 13 years older than my nephew, and he’s 13 years older than my daughter.  There is also 13 years between my mom and dad!  Oh, and my birthday is September 13th!  How cool is all that?  There are a lot of other 13’s in there that I could list, 13 is a repetitive number in my life, so if there were such thing as lucky numbers (I don’t believe in luck) then 13 would be mine!  Anyway, I thought I would share a birthday card with you today.  It’s not the one we sent to my nephew.  I don’t want to share it until it has a chance to get there!

We did this at a workshop a while back I had for Debbie, Hi Debbie!  She found me from the Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrator Finder on the website, how fun is that?  Anyway, last month at her workshop this is one of the cards we did!  I absolutely love this card, it’s actually a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from someone, but I can’t find the original.  Is it yours or do you know who was the original creator?  If so please tell me so I can give proper credit where credit is due, the original artist did such an amazing job, I love it.  I love it so much that I sent it to someone this month as a birthday card!

One thing that caught my eye was that it used one of my favorite Designer Series Papers, Comfort Café.  It reminds me of the country, maybe Little House on the Prairie or something like that!  I tweaked the original a bit, I turned the squares so that they are diamonds, I thought it just gave it a bit of a different look.  You’ll notice that the edges of the squares are sponged with Soft Suede.  It gives the card a bit of a distressed look, but it’s not overpowering, it just blends it all together nicely I think.

For the sentiment I used Happy Birthday, but you could use anything with this card.  Also notice that it is Perfectly Penned which is one of the sets that you can buy the single stamps from for a limited time.  So if you just wanted to get the Happy Birthday that I used on this card without purchasing the whole set you can do that, or one of the other sentiments alone without the whole set.  I love that Stampin’ Up! ® is trying this program out.  If you like it let them know, perhaps it will hang around for a while.

Ok, I’m off to bed.  I had a crazy afternoon shopping with two teenagers today.  One of the girls, my bonus-daughter had us cracking up trying on crazy outfits, she put on a gold ankle length sweater dress, a black fur coat, a brownish fur stole, a grey fur purse, a bright blue feather boa, and a brown fur hat… oh, and she had her turquoise and brown cowboy boots on.  THEN she was dancing a jig… so funny!  We were cracking up, in fact, I think I snorted about five times in a row!  All that said, I’m tired and heading to bed!  Sweet dreams!

Sugar and Spice and Christmas Cards So Nice

Well… I promised you a birthday card for my nephew that was stamped at least in part by my son but he bailed on me, for band practice if you can believe that!  Ha, like practicing with his band is anywhere near as important as stamping with his mom!

So… instead I thought I’d give you a quick sneak peek at something from the 10/10/25 Christmas card class on the 26th, 27th, or 28th.  I showed you one of the other cards the other day, and I don’t want to give it all away, so I thought I’d just give you a quick peek at these guys…

Aren’t they cute dancing around?  They might look chocolate chip (hint hint) but they’re actually really sweet!  You know, like sugar and spice!  *hint hint*

Well, that’s all I’m going to give away!  If you want to see the rest you’ll just have to sign up and come to class, either in person or by mail!  Yes, you can do the class by mail!  You can see more details on my Stampin’ Up! ® events page, and remember that I need RSVP’s and payment by the 16th, so e-mail me to reserve your spot!  These guys hope to see you there!

Have a great night, full of sweet dreams!

Birthday for a Hostess

When you host a workshop or join a club there are some awesome perks as I mentioned in my post about club earlier this week.  One is the option for exclusive hostess only sets like this one, A Cherry On Top!  I made this card for a dear friend, who shall not be named because I don’t know if she’s received it yet, and it makes me hungry!  lol  Who doesn’t love cupcakes for their birthday, especially with a cherry on top!

I adore this card, all of the little touches that went into it made it so special, for an amazingly special friend!  The cupcakes are in two pieces, the base and the frosting, so after I stamped the cake stand I simply inked the bottom pieces, stamped them using the Stamp-a-ma-jig (so that I could get them lined up evenly on the stand), then lined the “frosting” up with it and did the same.  To get the two colors on the cherry I colored directly onto the rubber with my Stampin’ Write Markers, great technique when you want two colors on a single stamp.  Have a closer look…

Simple right?  The base is whisper white, and I layered that with Rose Red embossed with the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder in the Big Shot.  The focal image with the cupcakes is matted on Pretty in Pink and the white border around it was cut using the New Finishing Touches Edgelits die.  I used the Modern Label punch for the Happy Birthday sentiment, stamping it in Rose Red on Whisper White and punching it, then punching an additional piece in Pretty in Pink to be the back layer.  I layered it the same as I did on the Out Comes the Sun card from my Open House.  You simply snip the background piece in half and glue half to each end, forming a sort of layered semi-mat for it.  I finished it all off with Whisper White Baker’s Twine, since it is a cupcake card I thought that was especially appropriate!

As I said, this is a hostess exclusive set, which means you can only get it when you host a workshop or place an order of $150.00.  If you’re not sure about hosting a workshop, a great alternative is to join Stamp Club!  You can find out more details about Stamp Clubs (local and long distance) in my post here.

Ok… I’ve got to get back to homework!  I have a paper due tomorrow, say a prayer and wish me luck!

Calypso Butterflies

Oh my goodness it’s been a crazy two days!  Thursday and Friday my husband and I attended the Willow Creek Association Global Leadership Summit.  Our church was a host site and it was awesome!  I had been before, but this was Donovan’s first time, I think he’ll want to go back next year.  It’s an amazing event, we were privileged to hear Condoleezza Rice, Bill Hybels, John Ortberg, Craig Groeschel, and Patrick Lencioni among others.  There was also amazing music, the band Gungor and a young man named Kevin Olusola.  Kevin plays cello… and beatboxes, together!  He calls it “celloboxing”!  Awesome to see and hear!  He’s also done some really awesome covers of some popular songs, you can see his covers of Smooth Criminal by Micahel Jackson and Baby by Justin Bieber on his official site (along with some others)!  Here is one example of his celloboxing…

Awesome right?

Now that you know what I’ve been up to let me show you this little card I whipped up this morning.  I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits to make this simple, but striking, card…

Such a simple card!  I used Calypso Coral for the base, a layer of Whisper White, stamped “Imagine the Possibilities” from Word Play, and put the butterflies on with glue dots.  When I stamped the words I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure that it was straight and the right distance from the corner.  I LOVE my Stamp-a-ma-jig!  Oh, and I can’t forget the bling in the center of the biggest butterfly!  Gotta have bling whenever possible, right?  Here’s a closer look at that…

Gorgeous right?  I used the largest rhinestones on the card, the smaller ones wouldn’t have done it justice in my opinion.  I thought about putting rhinestones on all of the butterflies but I like it this way so much better!  It’s adds that sparkle without overpowering the simplicity of the overall card.  Now, I can’t say that I came up with this layout at all!  I’ve seen cards like this all over the place, so I naturally wanted to make one too!  Butterflies are one of my favorite creatures, and this phrase just made me think… if a tiny caterpillar can turn into a beautiful butterfly, imagine what is possible for us?

Now, something super special about this card… I’m having my first class, YAY!  On August 25th from 1pm to 5pm.  It will be a 10/10/25 class.  That means you’ll be making 10 cards, with 10 envelopes, for $25.00, which is only $2.50 a card and you can’t get cards like this at the store for $2.50!  Plus it’s handmade and everyone loves to receive something handmade, whether they tell you or not!  This is just ONE of the cards you will make at that class, there will be more gorgeousness that you will make and take home and they will encompass a variety of techniques and tools.  I have limited space for classes, so you will want to register soon before it fills up!  The class will be on Saturday, August 25th from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.  Let me know if you would like to attend, payment is required before I can hold your spot in class, and the registration deadline is Wednesday, August 22nd by 10:00 pm.  I’m so excited to be holding my first class and hope you’ll come help me celebrate!  Feel free to share the details with your friends and have them contact me if they have any questions.  If you will be bringing someone I will need to know that by the 22nd as well as receive their payment.  Thanks so much and I hope to see you on the 25th!
